Henkel invests about €5M into China Materialia to boost adhesive business

Henkel AG & Co. KGaA invested about €5 million in Shanghai-based China Materialia LLC to boost its adhesive business, the company said June 12.

The investment, via Henkel Ventures, is the company's second funding round into China Materialia. The chemical and consumer goods giant's adhesive technologies business will now be able to tap into the advanced materials knowledge pool of startups in China and neighboring Asian markets.

Henkel has gained access to up to 500 Chinese startups in the field of new materials, energy, environment and advanced manufacturing as well as digital industrial, as a limited partner in China Materialia's Investment Fund II.
