Consortium of Shell, Eneco, Van Oord bids in Dutch offshore wind tender

A consortium of Royal Dutch Shell PLC, Van Oord NV and Eneco Groep N.V. is participating in the 760-MW tender for the Hollandse Kust Zuid 3 & 4 Dutch offshore wind project.

The Consortium Witwind aims to begin operations on the Hollandse Kust Zuid 3 & 4 sites in 2023. Once operational, the project will generate enough power for about 1 million households, according to a March 13 news release.

The Hollandse Kust Zuid 3 & 4 tender is open to zero-subsidy bids from March 1 to March 14. The project will be built 20 kilometers off the coast of The Hague in the Netherlands.

In February, Vattenfall AB announced its participation in the tender for the project. Vattenfall won the subsidy-free tender for the 750-MW Hollandse Kust Zuid 1 & 2 project in March 2018.
