Tomy fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Tomy Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥11.06 per share, a decrease of 31.4% from ¥16.12 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.46 billion, a decline of 26.4% from ¥1.98 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 3.4% from 4.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined year over year to ¥42.89 billion from ¥43.65 billion, and total operating expenses came to ¥40.73 billion, compared with ¥40.62 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income decreased 57.6% year over year to ¥942.2 million, or ¥7.14 per share, from ¥2.22 billion, or ¥18.08 per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
