OMV Petrom begins production at new well in Romania's Lebada Vest field

OMV Petrom SA has started production from a new multilateral offshore well in Romania's Lebada Vest field, the biggest offshore oil field in Romania currently in production.

Drilling work on the well, LVO7, began in February, according to an Aug. 9 news release. Initial production at the well is pegged at 1,700 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

OMV Petrom's investment for drilling the well and connecting it to existing infrastructure is about €30 million.

OMV Petrom, a subsidiary of Austria's OMV AG, operates as an integrated oil and gas company in southeast Europe.
