Superior Uniform Q4 profit climbs YOY

Superior Uniform Group Inc. said its fourth-quarter normalized net income amounted to 21 cents per share, compared with 21 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $3.0 million, a gain from $3.0 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 5.5% from 6.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 7.0% on an annual basis to $53.2 million from $49.7 million, and total operating expenses grew 7.6% on an annual basis to $48.3 million from $44.8 million.

Reported net income rose 17.7% from the prior-year period to $3.4 million, or 23 cents per share, from $2.9 million, or 20 cents per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 82 cents per share, an increase from 79 cents per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was $11.9 million, an increase of 8.5% from $11.0 million in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased 7.2% on an annual basis to $210.3 million from $196.2 million, and total operating expenses rose 7.0% year over year to $190.8 million from $178.2 million.

The company said reported net income grew 15.4% year over year to $13.1 million, or 90 cents per share, in the full year, from $11.4 million, or 82 cents per share.
