UBS Group AG is weighing up whether to roll out its online wealth management portal, SmartWealth, outside the U.K., Wealth Management COO Dirk Klee told Reuters.
It launched SmartWealth in the U.K. in 2017, targeting clients with £15,000 or more to invest.
"We built a fully automated digital wealth management adviser. Scaling this up will be essential," Klee told Reuters. "We are in the process of evaluating if we will roll it out globally through the platform."
Klee said UBS was not currently looking to introduce the platform in the Americas.
UBS hopes SmartWealth will support its strategy to expand its customer base to the "mass affluent," a segment with £100,000 to £2 million assets to invest, according to the newswire.
SmartWealth is part of the implementation of UBS' new One Wealth Management Platform which Klee said had cut operating costs by "double-digit" percentages.
