Pacific Bauxite secures court injunction related to Nendo license cancellation

Pacific Bauxite Ltd. said Oct. 11 that the High Court of Solomon Islands granted an interim injunction to its 50%-owned joint venture company, Eight South Investments Pty. Ltd., related to the Nendo bauxite project.

The injunction prevents authorities from accepting any applications from, or granting any conflict tenements within the property to any entity other than the joint venture company, pending the outcome of court proceedings.

In June, Pacific Bauxite suspended exploration at Nendo after the minister of mines, energy and rural electrification canceled prospecting license PL 01/16, held by the subsidiary. The company filed the legal challenge against the move in July.

The court will determine whether the proceedings should continue to a trial or be determined earlier, with a decision expected within the next three months.

Meanwhile, Pacific Bauxite will continue to pursue out-of-court negotiations and explore all available options to resolve the matter.
