Acciona's 183-MW Mexican wind farm starts operation

Acciona SA has placed in service the 183-MW El Cortijo wind farm in Tamaulipas, Mexico.

The project was built through an energy and clean energy certificate awarded in the first long-term power auction organized under Mexico's energy reform, according to a Sept. 4 news release.

El Cortijo is the fifth wind farm Acciona owns in Mexico. The company has installed 740 MW of wind capacity in the country, in addition to 303 MW that it installed for third parties.
