Amagasa Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Jan. 31 amounted to a loss of ¥20.13 per share, compared with a loss of ¥6.37 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥37.5 million, compared with a loss of ¥11.9 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to negative 2.4% from negative 0.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 5.3% year over year to ¥1.53 billion from ¥1.46 billion, and total operating expenses rose 7.8% from the prior-year period to ¥1.58 billion from ¥1.47 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥59.0 million, or a loss of ¥31.67 per share, compared to a loss of ¥25.0 million, or a loss of ¥13.42 per share, in the year-earlier period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥84.20 per share, a decline of 6.0% from ¥89.56 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥156.9 million, a decrease of 6.0% from ¥166.9 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew 7.1% on an annual basis to ¥7.34 billion from ¥6.85 billion, and total operating expenses increased 7.0% year over year to ¥7.04 billion from ¥6.59 billion.
The company said reported net income declined 13.6% year over year to ¥127.0 million, or ¥68.16 per share, in the full year, from ¥147.0 million, or ¥78.90 per share.
As of April 23, US$1 was equivalent to ¥119.66.
