Maruyoshi Center Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 amounted to ¥11.57 per share, an increase from ¥4.18 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥93.1 million, a gain from ¥34.4 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 0.9% from 0.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue stayed flat year over year at ¥10.82 billion, and total operating expenses totaled ¥10.61 billion, compared with ¥10.69 billion in the year-earlier period.
Reported net income increased from the prior-year period to ¥43.0 million, or ¥5.34 per share, from ¥1.0 million, or 12 sen per share.
As of Oct. 15, US$1 was equivalent to ¥106.21.
