Yaizu Suisankagaku fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

Yaizu Suisankagaku Industry Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to ¥15.03 per share, a decrease of 18.3% from ¥18.40 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥193.8 million, a decrease of 21.7% from ¥247.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 4.0% from 5.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥4.90 billion, compared with ¥4.91 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to ¥4.62 billion from ¥4.57 billion.

Reported net income decreased 25.7% on an annual basis to ¥182.0 million, or ¥14.12 per share, from ¥245.0 million, or ¥18.22 per share.

As of Aug. 8, US$1 was equivalent to ¥101.85.
