Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV said its normalized net income for the second quarter came to 56 euro cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 52 cents per share.
EPS rose 37.5% year over year from 41 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was €877.5 million, a gain of 36.8% from €641.3 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 3.1% from 2.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue totaled €27.93 billion, compared with €27.89 billion in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses totaled €26.27 billion, compared with €26.49 billion in the year-earlier period.
Reported net income grew 268.7% from the prior-year period to €1.15 billion, or 74 cents per share, from €310.6 million, or 20 cents per share.
