Report: Axis Bank chief information officer asked to resign over complaints

Axis Bank Ltd. asked its president and chief information officer, Amit Sethi, to resign following complaints about the bank's technology department, The Economic Times reported Feb. 23, citing "two sources familiar with the development."

A bank spokesperson confirmed that Sethi is no longer in charge of the information technology function of the bank. Axis Bank reportedly asked Sethi to resign after a whistleblower complained about the bank's technology department. It is believed that the complaint contains allegations of irregularities and inappropriate deals.

Avinash Raghavendra will take over as head of the technology department, the bank said.

Sethi did not respond to the publication's request for comment.
