Deposit and lending rates have continued to rise at U.S. banks and thrifts since the Federal Reserve's 25-basis-point rate hike in March. The yield curve, however, flattened both rates compared to the same time last month and last year. The spread between the 10-year U.S. Treasury note and the 3-month U.S. Treasury bill contracted to 103 basis points on May 25, from 131 basis points on May 25, 2017.
