Netflix to double down on interactive storytelling, exec says

Netflix Inc. will be "doubling down" on interactive storytelling over the next couple of years following the success of "Black Mirror" spinoff "Bandersnatch," Todd Yellin, the company's vice president of product, said while speaking at an event in Mumbai.

At the event, Yellin called the company's first foray into interactive storytelling "a huge hit around the world" and "something we want to bet more on." According to a March 12 Variety report, Yellin said the streaming giant could pursue a "wacky comedy" or a romance instead of science fiction or dark content.

Netflix also plans to further expand Indian content production, Yellin said, citing the success of Indian original series "Sacred Games." Content production in the region will likely "double next year, and then double again," he said at the event.
