Japan Airlines Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to ¥126.24 per share, a gain of 10.6% from ¥114.10 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥45.78 billion, a gain of 10.6% from ¥41.38 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 12.2% from 11.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased on an annual basis to ¥376.69 billion from ¥365.20 billion, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to ¥302.45 billion from ¥291.44 billion.
Reported net income rose on an annual basis to ¥65.55 billion, or ¥180.75 per share, from ¥63.60 billion, or ¥175.39 per share.
As of Nov. 4, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.24.
