Georgia Power to distribute $25 nuclear bill credit in September

Georgia Power Co. will distribute a $25 bill credit to customers in September, according to a Sept. 6 company release. It will be the last of three separate credits approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission as part of its order to continue construction at the Vogtle nuclear expansion project.

Customers also received $25 bill credits in April and July. Totaling $188 million, the bill credits are the result of parent guarantee payments from Toshiba Corp.

Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Co., recently announced the placement of the third of four new steam generators at the Vogtle plant.
