China Construction Bank names former New Zealand central bank governor to board

China Construction Bank Corp.'s board nominated Graeme Wheeler an independent nonexecutive director for a three-year term.

Wheeler served as governor of New Zealand's central bank from 2012 to 2017. He has served as a nonexecutive director of Thyssen-Bornemisza Group since 2017.

Wheeler's nomination is subject to the approvals of the bank's shareholders and the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, the bank said Jan. 17.
