Western Potash Corp. on Feb. 1 said it plans to change its name to Western Resources as it seeks to diversify to metals and minerals beyond potash. It also wants to look beyond Saskatchewan, where its flagship Milestone project, now its only asset, is located.
The group will ask shareholders at a March 9 meeting to approve a corporate restructuring, which would see Western Potash emerge as a corporation that can pursue investment opportunities beyond potash and in jurisdictions that may be outside of Saskatchewan. The restructuring is expected to close during March.
