Crestview Partners acquires vehicle extended-warranty company

Crestview Partners bought Protect My Car from an unnamed private investor group for an undisclosed amount.

The middle-market private equity firm conducted the acquisition through its managed funds and in partnership with Protect My Car's management.

Protect My Car founder Craig Rubino will remain CEO and a board member of the company, which provides vehicle service contracts and other extended warranty products for vehicles.

Colonnade Securities LLC and Sandler O'Neill + Partners LP were the financial advisers to Protect My Car and Crestview, respectively, in the transaction.
