Ericsson to set up 5G research site in France

Communications equipment company Ericsson will establish a new research and development site in France early this year to facilitate 5G connectivity in Europe, it said in a statement.

The Swedish company said the new site will host up to 300 employees and will focus at first on 5G development and security. Meanwhile, it will establish an initial unit at its offices in Massy, France.

Ericsson currently has 18 R&D centers in Europe, including Finland, Germany and Hungary, among others. The company also has around 15,000 engineers in Europe.
