Durham, N.C.-based Chimerix Inc. appointed Martha Demski to be chair of the company's board, replacing Ernest Mario who will retire at the company's annual meeting in June.
Demski has been on the Chimerix board since 2005, according to her LinkedIn profile.
The company also said Edward Greissing Jr., Robert Meyer and Fred Middleton have joined the board, while John Leonard and James Niedel were stepping down in June.
Greissing has served as the executive director of the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Center for Public Health at the Milken Institute since 2016.
Meyer has been a principal of drug and biological products at Greenleaf Health LLC.
Middleton is a managing director of Sanderling Ventures, a venture capital firm, where he has worked for 30 years.
