Auryn closes US$9.8M financing

Auryn Resources Inc. raised US$9.8 million to fund gold exploration in Canada and Peru.

Auryn sold 6,015,385 common shares at US$1.30 a share netting US$7.8 million in a bought deal financing, including a fully subscribed over-allotment, and also raised US$2 million in a financing with Goldcorp Inc., which maintained its 12.5% stake in the junior explorer by buying 1,091,826 flow-through shares priced at US$1.82 each.

Auryn announced the financing Mar. 13.

The funds will primarily back Auryn's exploration efforts at Committee Bay and Homestake Ridge in Canada and Huilacollo and Sombrero in Peru.

To that end Auryn said it plans to outline detailed exploration plans in the near future.
