Peak Rock affiliate completes purchase of Tyson Foods' pizza crust business

An affiliate of private equity firm Peak Rock Capital LLC has completed its previously announced acquisition of Tyson Foods Inc.'s pizza crust business TNT Crust.

The company announced the move on Sept. 4 without disclosing financial terms.

TNT Crust manufactures and distributes partially baked, self-rising and flat bread along with other pizza crust products for the foodservice and retail channels. Springdale, Ark.-based Tyson Foods sold the unit to focus on its protein business.

Peak Rock plans to make TNT Crust a standalone entity following the transaction.

Scott McNair was appointed CEO of the pizza crust business, while John Holland was named CFO.

McNair held senior leadership roles at Tyson Foods and was the former president and CEO of Schwan's Co.'s MaMa Rosa's Pizza. Holland was the former CFO and COO of ARYZTA AG's pizza division, Great Kitchens and Cousin Foods.

Peak Rock has investments in other food and beverage companies, including Berner Food & Beverage Inc., Diamond Crystal Brands Inc. and Gold Coast Bakeries LLC.
