Cigna Corp. erroneously sent out private data of some of its customers in Asia due to a system error, Bloomberg reported.
The company's claim system had issued information, which include bank account details and claim settlement communications, to some customers and healthcare providers, according to the report.
Cigna spokesperson Sabrina Cheung told Bloomberg that the situation affected a small number of customers who work outside their home countries and that the error was not a result of a cyberattack, the publication reported.
