T-Mobile Inc. has expanded its LTE network speed and coverage in Atlanta ahead of Super Bowl LIII.
The carrier also permanently boosted network capacity and coverage in areas where the biggest crowds are expected, such as Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, key hotels throughout the city and more, according to a Jan. 15 news release.
"We're making these permanent upgrades that will continue to serve Atlanta long beyond the Super Bowl, we're also laying a foundation for 5G," said T-Mobile Chief Technology Officer Neville Ray.
T-Mobile deployed over 300 small cells and 20 distributed antenna systems to increase capacity and speed to enhance indoor coverage and speed at key venues.
Super Bowl LIII will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Feb. 3.
