Amedisys closes acquisition of hospice service provider Asana Hospice

Amedisys Inc. completed the acquisition of Asana Hospice, adding an additional eight locations in different U.S. states to its home health and hospice network.

As a result of the acquisition, additional hospice care services of Baton Rouge, La.-based Amedisys are now available in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas and Texas. The company now owns and operates 146 hospice care centers in 33 states, providing care to about 12,000 patients daily.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

This is the third hospice acquisition for Amedisys in less than a year, with the most recent being the RoseRock acquisition in April 2019.
