Germany's Federal Cartel Office is considering stopping Facebook Inc. from collecting certain user data, Reuters reported, citing Bild am Sonntag.
The German regulator will reveal its decision in the next few weeks, the report said. A deadline for Facebook's compliance is expected to be imposed once the ruling has been finalized.
The plan follows previous actions by the antitrust watchdog to look into Facebook's potential abuse in the collection of third-party data from its users. The company has since denied the Federal Cartel Office's claims, according to the report.
