Harakosan fiscal Q3 loss narrows YOY

Harakosan Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, came to a loss of 2 Japanese sen per share, compared with a loss of ¥3.75 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥625,000, compared with a loss of ¥83.8 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to negative 0.2% from negative 35.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 16.0% on an annual basis to ¥276.0 million from ¥238.0 million, and total operating expenses fell from the prior-year period to ¥253.0 million from ¥256.0 million.

Reported net income totaled ¥6.0 million, or 15 sen per share, compared to a loss of ¥136.0 million, or a loss of ¥6.09 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Jan. 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.86.
