Sabal Trail receives positive FERC environmental assessment for expansion

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission staff issued a positive environmental review for Sabal Trail Transmission LLC's request to build and operate a new metering and regulating station and other facilities in order for Florida Gas Transmission Co. LLC to provide the developers with firm natural gas transportation service at a point on the Sabal Trail system in Citrus County, Fla.

In the Sept. 5 assessment, the commission determined that the project would not result in significant environmental impact.

Sabal Trail said the $25 million Florida Gas Transmission Citrus County Meter Station project would allow developers to provide Duke Energy Florida LLC with an additional supply of natural gas, additional operational flexibility and reliability along the Sabal Trail pipeline system.

Project facilities would consist of a new metering and regulating, or M&R, station including flow and pressure control equipment, associated piping, an interconnect from the M&R station to the edge of Florida Gas' existing right of way and other related facilities.

Sabal Trail is a joint venture of Spectra Energy Partners LP, NextEra Energy Inc. and Duke Energy Corp. (FERC dockets CP19-482, CP15-17, CP14-554, CP15-16)
