Target Corp. said June 5 that it will expand its same-day delivery service to the Chicago metro area on June 7.
The service is offered through its Shipt delivery platform, and the expansion is an update to the retailer's plan to grow across six Midwest states.
As part of the Chicago rollout, customers who sign up for the service before June 7 will receive a discounted annual membership fee of $49, instead of the usual $99. They will also receive a $15 credit with a Target order of at least $100.
The U.S. retail chain added that Shipt intends to add more people to its shopper network in Illinois to ensure the fulfillment of each online order.
