Report: Sandals Resorts to resume sale

Sandals Resorts International Ltd. has resumed an attempt to sell itself for as much as $4.5 billion, Bloomberg News reported Sept. 17, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The Montego Bay, Jamaica-based resort operator is reportedly engaged with an adviser on the sale process to iron out estate-planning issues.

A spokesperson told the news wire that the company "is exploring options to take advantage of the growing global demand for the brand" but refused to disclose further details. He added that the sale effort was first reported in 2017, Bloomberg said.

Sandals Resorts runs 24 all-inclusive resorts across the Caribbean under the Sandals, Beaches, Grand Pineapple, Fowl Cay Resort and Your Jamaican Villas brands, according to its website.
