Toro Energy estimates maiden vanadium resource at Wiluna uranium project

Toro Energy Ltd. said Oct. 21 that it estimated a maiden inferred resource of 68.3 million pounds of vanadium pentoxide within 53.6 million tonnes grading 0.0382% vanadium pentoxide for the Wiluna uranium project in Western Australia, using a cut-off grade of 200 parts per million U3O8.

The vanadium resource was estimated inside the uranium resource grade shells because it will be a by-product of the mining and processing of uranium ore, and not a resource of its own.

The company believes producing vanadium as a by-product is likely to result in a significant improvement to the feasibility and value of Wiluna.
