Home Product Center profit misses consensus by 22.2% in Q2

Home Product Center Public Company Ltd said its normalized net income for the second quarter was 5 satang per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 6 satang per share.

EPS rose year over year from 5 satang.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 649.3 million baht, a gain from 622.3 million baht in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 4.6% from 4.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 10.4% year over year to 14.12 billion baht from 12.79 billion baht, and total operating expenses rose 10.7% on an annual basis to 12.94 billion baht from 11.68 billion baht.

Reported net income rose from the prior-year period to 820.2 million baht, or 6 satang per share, from 792.8 million baht, or 6 satang per share.

As of July 27, US$1 was equivalent to 34.85 baht.
