Amazon.com Inc. has finished visiting the 20 cities it shortlisted for its second headquarters in North America, NBC News reported May 16, citing sources close to the process.
The completion takes the e-commerce giant a step closer to choosing a location for the new office, which is expected to net a $5 billion investment and create 50,000 jobs.
The cities included in Amazon's shortlist are Toronto, Columbus, Indianapolis, Chicago, Denver, Nashville, Los Angeles, Dallas, Austin, Boston, New York City, Newark, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Montgomery County, Washington D.C., Raleigh, Northern Virginia, Atlanta and Miami.
The report did not indicate whether the list has been trimmed down or if there is a leading contender.
