China Telecom Corp. Ltd.'s independent nonexecutive director and nomination committee chairperson, Laura Cha May Lung, has resigned from her posts, according to a Telecompaper report.
Lung, who was also a member of the nomination committee in addition to her two other roles, intends to focus on other business commitments and engagements, according to the report. Her resignation is effective immediately.
To replace Lung, the Chinese telecom company appointed Wang Hsuehming, an independent nonexecutive director of the company.
News of the senior management changes come after China Telecom and Hong Kong fixed-line operator HGC Global Communications struck a deal to build a network interconnection system through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge.
