Chenming Mold Ind. Q1 loss widens YOY

Chenming Mold Ind. Corp. said its first-quarter normalized net income came to a loss of 13 Taiwan cents per share, compared with a loss of 5 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of NT$22.4 million, compared with a loss of NT$9.4 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to negative 3.1% from negative 1.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to NT$729.9 million from NT$710.9 million, and total operating expenses grew from the prior-year period to NT$753.3 million from NT$727.3 million.

Reported net income came to a loss of NT$29.8 million, or a loss of 17 cents per share, compared to a loss of NT$12.4 million, or a loss of 7 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
