New York & Co. Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 1 was a loss of 6 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of a loss of 11 cents per share.
The per-share loss widened 94.2% year over year from 3 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of $3.9 million, compared with a loss of $2.0 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin declined to negative 1.9% from negative 0.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined on an annual basis to $210.3 million from $217.6 million, and total operating expenses declined year over year to $216.5 million from $220.7 million.
Reported net income came to a loss of $9.4 million, or a loss of 15 cents per share, compared to a loss of $3.1 million, or a loss of 5 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
