Berkshire Hills Bancorp shareholders OK doubling of authorized stock

Berkshire Hills Bancorp Inc. shareholders, in their annual meeting held May 17, approved a proposal to increase the company's authorized common stock to 100 million shares from 50 million shares.

The proposal received 39,793,427 votes in favor and 2,137,242 votes against. There were 89,892 abstentions.

Shareholders also approved a proposal to increase the company's authorized preferred stock to 2 million shares from 1 million shares. It got 35,392,534 votes in favor and 2,279,747 votes against. There were 52,837 abstentions and 4,287,506 broker-non votes.
