Total U.S. "selected services" revenue ticked up in the fourth quarter of 2018, buoyed by an increase in revenues from transportation and warehousing, data from the U.S. Census Bureau showed.
Seasonally adjusted selected services revenue rose 1.2% quarter over quarter, to $3.963 trillion from the revised $3.915 trillion in the previous quarter.
Transportation and warehousing helped drive the overall rise with 2.4% growth, to $252.79 billion.
Administrative and support and waste management and remediation services revenue for the quarter climbed 2.3%, to $258.85 billion from $253.01 billion in the third quarter of 2018.
Meanwhile, hospitals registered a 0.7% quarter-over-quarter decrease, to $290.84 billion from the revised $292.80 billion in the third quarter of 2018.
