Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Q4 profit climbs 9.4% YOY

PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter amounted to 20.07 rupiah per share, a gain of 5.7% from 19.00 rupiah per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.343 trillion rupiah, a gain of 9.4% from 2.142 trillion rupiah in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 40.3% from 43.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 19.3% on an annual basis to 5.820 trillion rupiah from 4.878 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses increased 59.6% from the prior-year period to 2.198 trillion rupiah from 1.377 trillion rupiah.

Reported net income increased 9.6% from the prior-year period to 2.767 trillion rupiah, or 23.70 rupiah per share, from 2.525 trillion rupiah, or 22.39 rupiah per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 78.19 rupiah per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 95.12 rupiah.

EPS was 77.68 rupiah in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 8.708 trillion rupiah, a rise from 8.574 trillion rupiah in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased from the prior-year period to 42.100 trillion rupiah from 38.668 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses increased year over year to 28.052 trillion rupiah from 24.863 trillion rupiah.

The company said reported net income grew on an annual basis to 10.363 trillion rupiah, or 93.06 rupiah per share, in the full year, from 10.181 trillion rupiah, or 92.24 rupiah per share.

As of March 2, US$1 was equivalent to 13,300 rupiah.
