B2Gold secures initial 51% interest in Finnish gold JV with Aurion

B2Gold Corp. exercised its option to acquire a 51% interest in a gold joint venture in Finland from Aurion Resources Ltd.

The joint venture includes the Kutuvuoma and Ahvenjarvi projects, covering about 25,000 hectares.

B2Gold has completed over C$5 million in exploration expenditures, paid Aurion C$50,000 cash and issued 550,000 shares over four years, according to an Aug. 21 release.

It can earn an additional 19% interest by spending a further C$10 million over two years and another 5% interest by completing a feasibility study, for a total of 75%.
