OG&E lowering monthly fuel cost recovery on bills

Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co.'s Arkansas and Oklahoma customers will see lower bills as the utility plans to reduce its monthly fuel cost recovery.

Effective in April's first billing cycle, an average Arkansas residential customer's bill will reduce $6 per month while the average, residential customer in Oklahoma will see a monthly decrease of $13.34.

The OGE Energy Corp. subsidiary attributed the fuel cost reduction primarily to the lower cost for natural gas and a decrease in energy grid congestion as "a result of new technology that has improved the flow of electricity on the grid. We also recently completed construction of a high-voltage transmission line into northwest Oklahoma, which further alleviates wind-related bottlenecks," Oklahoma Gas and Electric spokesman Brian Alford said in a release.
