Shamrock Capital acquires Stargate music publishing catalog

Los Angeles based investment firm Shamrock Capital Advisors LLC acquired the music publishing catalog from Tor Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen, known as the songwriting and production duo, Stargate.

The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, includes popular songs such as "Firework" by Katy Perry; "Diamonds," "Rude Boy" and "What's My Name" by Rihanna; and "Irreplaceable" by Beyoncé, not to mention a diverse catalog of contemporary hits from the last two decades.

Shamrock bought the catalog through its Entertainment IP Fund which was formed to acquire existing entertainment intellectual property rights across the broader music, film and television content sectors of the industry, according to an Oct. 16 news release.
