Vulcan Materials Co. recorded a 43.31% increase in net earnings for the year ending Dec. 31, 2017, as total revenues and EPS values also rose compared to the previous year.
Total revenues for the year went up to $3.89 billion from $3.59 billion in the previous year; cost of revenues increased to $2.89 billion from 2016's $2.59 billion.
Vulcan's net income increased to $601.2 million from 2016's $419.5 million, buoyed by a benefit of $232 million arising in part from the new U.S. tax law.
In full-year terms, 2017 basic EPS went up to $4.54, from $3.15 in the prior year, while diluted EPS increased to $4.46 compared to 2016's $3.09.
