Enel Green Power breaks ground on 90-MW wind portfolio in Spain

ENEL Green Power España S.L.U. started work on three new wind projects with a combined capacity of 90 MW in the Aragon region of Spain's Teruel province.

The construction of the 25-MW Allueva, 15-MW Sierra Pelarda and 50-MW Sierra Costera I wind farms raises the company's total renewable capacity in Spain to approximately 900 MW, according to a Jan. 17 news release.

Once the facilities enter operations by the end of 2019, they are expected to generate over 295 GWh of electricity yearly. Total investment on the three wind farms amounts to roughly €88 million.

The Enel SpA subsidiary has six wind farms under construction in the Teruel province, all expected to go online by the end of 2019. In total, the six wind facilities will have an installed capacity of about 218 MW and will generate about 708 GWh per year.
