U.K.-based Solarcentury started construction of a 110-MW solar farm in the municipality of Westerwolde in the Netherlands, according to a Sept. 19 company news release.
The Vlagtwedde solar farm will consist of about 350,000 panels and will occupy 100 hectares. The project is expected to produce 104,000 MWh annually, enough to power about 30,000 households.
Solarcentury co-developed the project with Dutch company PowerField Realisatie & Exploitatie BV.
Asset manager Impax will be the final owner of the solar farm.
