Oracle Corp. agreed to buy goBalto Inc., a California-based company that develops cloud-based solutions for clinical trials in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.

The buyer said the deal will help it provide an end-to-end cloud platform for the life sciences industry.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
