Kroger expands autonomous delivery service to Houston

The Kroger Co. said March 14 that it will launch its autonomous grocery delivery pilot to two of its stores in Houston.

The ongoing trial of the self-driving delivery service, created in partnership with robotics company Nuro Inc., began in Arizona in August 2018.

The food retailer, which operates 102 stores in Houston, said the delivery service will be available at its outlets on South Post Oak Road and Buffalo Speedway in the spring.

Customers can place orders seven days a week on Kroger's online portal or mobile app. Orders can be scheduled for same-day or next-day delivery, and the service has a flat rate of $5.95.
