Google Inc. launched its second app in stores hosted by Baidu Inc., Xiaomi Corp. and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. to tap the smartphone market in China, Reuters reported.
The search giant reportedly released a China-specific version of its storage management tool, Files Go. The app allows users to free storage space and is Google's first to be launched on third-party Chinese app stores.
The Alphabet Inc. unit's first app in China, Google Translate, launched in 2017.
The launch signals another attempt to re-enter China after the search giant's services were banned from the country. In a December 2017 blog post, Google announced the opening of an artificial intelligence research center in Beijing.
